With the change of international political patternand the increasing attention to strategic attribute of waterresources, the cooperative development of water resourcesamong countries is growing. However, some new problemshave emerged. At present, scholars have obtained abundantresearch achievements on cooperative development ofinternational rivers in southwest region. But as for rivers inthe northwest, such as Ertix River and Khorgos River, theresearch results are few. Most studies are limited tohydrology, water safety information sharing, shipping,fishery cooperative use of water resources, andenvironmental protection. Therefore, based on the theory ofsustainable development, this paper proposes interestscoordinating mechanism for the cooperative exploration andutilization of water resources by analyzing the status quo ofErtix river basin and the main body and its appeal to dealwith the cooperative use of water resources.
