Abstract:Equipment manufacturing industry is the important pillar industry of national economy, which may have impact on the core competition power of the manufacturing industry of the nation. Based on the panel data of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry from 2006 to 2015, the DEA-Malmquist model is built to measure the independent innovation capability of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry and equipment manufacturing industry in each year. The results show that the efficiency of technological innovation level of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry has overall upward trend. From TFP index decomposition, during the periods of 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, the two annual TFP index shows unsteady growth: first growing rapidly, and then decreasing rapidly. It is found in seven equipment manufacturing industry that the innovation efficiency index of the transportation equipment manufacturing industry is less than one while other industries maintain a good momentum of development. PTEC and SEC of most subindustries is equal to one or approximately to one. Pure technical efficiency change and scale efficiency change of single equipment manufacturing industry has little impact on technological innovation efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry.
