Abstract:Social resistance is one of the important issues of political sociology. Along with the expanding matters of social contradictions and discontents in contemporary China after the reform and openingup, the problems of social resistance and civil rights protecting become a central issues of academic study. So far, there is no systematic literature review on this subject as the foundation of academic discussion. This paper is a literature review of the representative resistance action (environmental resistance) of several groups (peasants, workers and proprietors) in modern China, including the research progress both at home and abroad. Then it proposes that the study of social resistance should be changed from multidisciplinary angles to interdisciplinary ones.
