Abstract:In recent years, the trends of longterm residence and family migration have become more and more prominent. Then, it is of great significance to research into the problem of migrants’ settlement intention. Based on an 8city survey data, the paper analyzes the influential residential factors on migrants’ settlement intention. The results show that residential segregation and neighborhood social capital are important factors which have impact on the migrants’ settlement intention besides housing property, house quality and neighborhood type. Neighborhood social capital has a significant mediation effect between residential segregation and migrants’ settlement intention. In other words, residential segregation between migrants and locals has impact on migrants’ social interactions with locals in the neighborhood and further influences their settlement intention.
