This paper explores the impact of intelligentization on the structural optimization of China’ s manufacturing industry through logic reasoning and empirical modeling. Logic reasoning shows that intelligentization can promote the optimization of manufacturing structure by providing technological innovation ability， improving manufacturing model， improving manufacturing efficiency and changing demand structure. The empirical results indicate that intelligentization has a significantly positive impact on the structural upgrading and rationalization of manufacturing industry，greatly promoting the structural optimization of manufacturing industry. It is also found that intelligentization has a significant impact on the rationalization of manufacturing structure in different regions with different levels of rationalization of manufacturing structure，and it has a more significant impact on the rationalization of manufacturing structure in regions with higher levels of rationalization of manufacturing structure.
