From the perspective of historical materialism, Marx thought deeply on world civilization. He investigated civilization communication under the background of the world history, and formed his world civilization with feature of the time. Standing to his basic position of Marx’s view of world civilization, keeping to the point of the world civilization coexistence and development, Xi Jinping has put forward a new vision of world civilization embodied in equality, mutual learning, peaceful dialogue and inclusiveness. He scientifically grasps new changes of world civilization, examines opportunities and challenges brought by the development of information civilization from the perspective of the impact of globalization on world civilization, and proposes that promoting the global integration is an inevitable requirement for updating the world governance order in view of the reform of global governance system. For this purpose, Xi Jinping presents new ideas of world civilization. He points out that openness and inclusiveness is the way of coexistence among civilizations, cooperation and exchanges are development strategies for civilization progress, and realization of different civilizations’ common development is the only way to a community with a shared future for mankind. For the question “where world civilization will go”, Xi Jinping provides China’s answer: actively promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind on the basis of the integration of civilization and facilitating the creation of a harmonious and beautiful world by the people of the world.
