For the healthy and orderly development of seawater desalination industry, the development potential of seawater desalination in Binhai New Area of Tianjin is analyzed from the aspects of demand forecast, technological base and policy support. Considering the characteristics of water use, industrial structure and development needs, some suggestions are put forward so as to provide basis for rational design of water supply and use and scientific decision-making of seawater desalination development in Tianjin, that is, most product of seawater desalination in industry, development of joint production and utilization and model of industrial agglomeration.
