The reasonable water price is one of the important means for the sustainable operation of rural drinking water safety projects. Take Minle County as a case study, the bearing capacity of water price of farmers and the cost of water supply are analyzed, and the water price adjustment mechanism of breakeven low profit in the rural areas and the mechanism of the progressive water price based on it are investigated. The rationality of water price and the reasonable structure of water supply cost are analyzed. The implementation of mechanism of breakeven low profit and progressive water price guarantees the basic water consumption of normal production and life, and the interests of water companies and the main water users are also considered. The costs of water resources and water supply are fully reflected in the water price, meanwhile, the water users are promoted to cherish and protect water resources.
