Based on the coastal resources and the current situations of marine economic development in Jiangsu Province, the following aspects are highlighted in the future: improvement of port infrastructures, promotion of marine industrial upgrading, strengthening of constructing coastal city groups and protection of tidal wetland environment. On this basis, constructing the coastal economic belt gives full play of its unique advantages so as to realize the rapid development of the coastal economy and to improve the holistic competitive capacity in the coastal areas of Jiangsu Province.
