Abstract:Based on the information entropy, the Theil index statistical method and the spatial data analysis method, the regional features of consumption of the dietary virtual water in China are discussed. The main conclusions are drawn as follows: (1)The balance of consumption structure of the dietary virtual water in the east, middle and west areas of China slightly increases. The consumption structure in the east areas is more diversified, followed by the middle areas, and that in the west is the lowest. (2)The contribution of differences of consumption structure of various types of dietary virtual water to the regional differences is stable at certain value. It fluctuates and shows a slight increase or decrease. The contribution of consumption of vegetable food virtual water in the east and middle areas exhibits a decrease trend, and that in the west areas is contrary. While the contribution of consumption of animal food virtual water in the east, middle and west areas gradually increases. (3)According to the change of hot and cold spot areas, it is found that there is no obvious transition in the overall spatial pattern of consumption of dietary virtual water in China. The hot spot of consumption has been distributed in the southeast coast, and the cold spot areas also show stable characteristics in space.
