The existing problems in the fixed posts of pump stations in Jiangsu section of Eastern Route Project of South-to-North Water Diversion are analyzed. The concept and characteristics of the flexible fixed posts of pumping stations are introduced. The methods for calculate the workload of the decision-making and operating levels of pumping stations under the flexible fixed posts are discussed, and the optimization model for the fixed posts of pump stations is established. Based on the case study of Jinhu Station of South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the empirical analysis is carried out to develop the scheme of the flexible fixed posts at Jinhu Station so as to minimize the labor costs, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated.
