China is now speeding up the construction of ecological civilization. The eco-hydraulic engineering is an important part of the ecological civilization and also the key measure for strengthening weak areas in water conservancy projects. The basic concept of the eco-hydraulic engineering is emphatically studied, and the basic principles to be followed in the planning and design are fully discussed. The typical case of Dujiangyan large-scale ecological water conservancy project is systematically analyzed. Some suggestions on how to accelerate the construction of eco-hydraulic engineering are put forward in order to provide reference for planning, design, construction and management of the ecological water conservancy projects.
