Abstract:The organic pollution index model, the multi-factor weighting index model of black and odorous water, and the method for evaluating black and odorous water in urban districts put forward by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development(MOHURD)of the Peoples Republic of China were compared and analyzed. The results are as follows: (1)For the normal water bodies, all the three models had rational evaluation results. (2)Both the organic pollution index model and the multi-factor weighting index model could objectively evaluate the intermittent black-odor and the long-term severe black and smelly state of the water body caused by the sewage discharge without treatment. (3)The evaluation method proposed by the MOHURD could accurately evaluate the status of intermittent black and odorous water, but in terms of long-term black and odorous water, the results were relatively conservative, as all water samples were indicated as low black and odorous levels. The correlation analysis of the three evaluation models showed a moderately correlated relationship, indicating that the results of the three models were similar.
