Abstract:In order to study the application of the data of velocity and water pressure measured by acoustic doppler velocimeter(ADV)in the inversion calculation of wave characteristics parameters, field observations in two sites in Taihu Lake were carried out, and the data of water pressure and velocity after preprocessing were Fourier transformed to obtain surface wave spectra, taking the truncation frequency of 0. 03~0. 5 Hz to have inversion calculation. The results showed that the effective wave heights obtained from the inversion calculation of water pressure data of May in Meiliang Bay and of July in lake heart were 0. 454 m, 187 m, respectively, and the effective wave periods of which were 2. 82 s, 2. 56 s, respectively. The effective wave heights of May in Meiliang Bay and of July in lake heart calculated by using ADV velocity data were 0. 451 m, 0. 181 m respectively, and the effective wave periods of which were 2. 82 s, 2. 62 s, respectively, which is very close to the effective wave height(0. 461 m, 0. 18 m)and effective wave period(2. 77 s, 2. 60 s)obtained by DWR, and the change trend is basically the same. Accordingly, ADV pressure and velocity data can be used for the lake wave calculation.
