In response to the problems of large calculation workload and many duplication of work in the traditional method for calculating over-excavation volume of earth-rock in complex terrain, some functions of Civil 3D software were used for 3D modeling in the excavation process of TB Hydropower Project dam foundation to calculate the over-excavation volume, which can quickly, accurately and intuitively calculate the actual volume of earth-rock.
