The current sponge city construction cannot solve the problems of sea views in cities. The reasons for this are analyzed. Some suggestions for the improvement of urban rainwater storage and drainage capacity are put forward: improving the schemes for sponge city construction, increasing the investment funds for urban waterlogging prevention and control, taking suitable measures such as one policy for one city, and establishing long-term plans for steady promotion.
