This paper analyzed the hydraulic mechanism, planning management notion and humanistic thought of Dujiangyan project, and thought that the project is a wonderful combination of the hydraulic mechanism of automatic water distribution, sand discharge and flood diversion. Besides, the project has also displayed scientific philosophy in its planning management, the humanistic thought of the harmony between man and nature, and the concept of sustainable development, which may give us some enlightment for the construction of water conservancy project and human development pattern.
