Abstract:SWMM(storm water management model)was used to simulate the effect of low impact development(LID)control measures on urban rainwater runoff and pollutant reduction under different rainfall conditions. Results show that LID control measures can significantly reduce the runoff, total pollutant load, and peak value of runoff, and delay the peak time of runoff. The reduction rates of rainwater runoff, total pollutant load, and peak runoff increase first and then decrease with the increase of rainfall peak coefficient, and decrease with the increase of recurrence period. The delay effect of peak time is negatively correlated with the rainfall peak coefficient and recurrence period. Relative to the rainfall peak coefficient, the recurrence period has more significant effect on rainfall runoff, pollutant load reduction rate, runoff peak value, and peak time.
