Abstract:The concentrations of 7 kinds of indicative PCBs internationally accepted in sediments of Fenhe River were measured, and its components, spatial distribution, its likely pollution resource and their ecological risk were analyzed. The results showed that seven kinds of PCBs were all detected, and the concentrations were 0. 008-0. 485 μg/L and 4. 44-79. 42 ng/g in water and sediment, respectively. PCB28 and PCB180 in the sediments had the highest contents and detection rates, which were identified as the dominant contaminates in the sediments of Fenhe River. The spatial distribution of PCBs concentrations presented a rise first followed by a decline from upstream to downstream, showing that the higher PCBs concentrations in midstream and downstream were related with the discharges of industrial enterprise and industrial park. In addition, the ecological risk of PCBs in the sediments of Fenhe River midstream were high, the ones in the upstream and downstream were low.
