Abstract:The carbon footprint of typical measures in sponge city construction was analyzed using the whole life cycle assessment method, considering the main links of material production, transportation, construction, operation, and maintenance. A carbon emission accounting system for typical sponge facilities was constructed. Taking Anshun Jiayuan Community, Qian'an City, as an example, the first batch of sponge city construction pilot projects in China, the whole life cycle carbon emissions of typical sponge facilities were calculated and the main influencing factors of carbon emissions were analyzed. The results show that the direct carbon emissions of sponge facilities throughout their whole lifecycle are 33.060t, mainly from carbon emissions generated by the degradation of pollutants. The indirect carbon emissions are 806.056t, with the highest proportion of carbon emissions during the construction and dismantling stages. The carbon sink amount is 2326.338t, mainly from green space carbon sequestration and rainwater reuse. The net carbon emissions within the entire life cycle of 30 years are -1487.220t, and it is expected that the sponge renovation plan will achieve carbon neutrality in 6.6a. The construction of urban sponge has a significant effect on carbon reduction, which can effectively promote the green and low-carbon development of cities. In future sponge construction, low-carbon building materials should be chosen as much as possible, and reasonable planting patterns should be adopted to better leverage the carbon reduction benefits of green spaces.
