Based on an introduction of the integrated urban river management strategy, the application of the strategy to Ejingshui River eco-restoration was discussed. From the view of the whole river basin, main problems of the Ejingshui River were identified accurately. Water resource, water security, aquatic environment, aquatic ecosystem, and water culture were taken into consideration comprehensively, and engineering and non-engineering measures were emphasized simultaneously. Thus, the specific targets for stages of flood control, pollution control, water quality remediation, and river ecological restoration were achieved successively. Results show that the black and odorous water problem in the Ejingshui River has already been solved, and the water quality attained class-Ⅳ gradually. Finally, some suggestions are proposed for further management of the Ejingshui River, including strengthening the river ecosystem recovery, optimizing the river management system, establishing a long-term monitoring and multi-index assessment system, and implementing adaptive management.
