Abstract:Urban public space has a unique function and effect in the course of civic ideological and political education. From the perspective of ideological and political education, the urban public space has special education connotation: it is the external and implicit unity of the body and it is an effective way to improve ideological and political education. From the perspective of cognitive law, the urban public space contains the “surge force of the ideological and political education”. It is a new education “speech” form of ideological and political education and is the speech of the “absence” and the paideia of the “presence”. It has important differences with the traditional ideological and political education. Therefore, it is necessary to deepen the education from the following aspects: having the education dialogue with “common sense”, promoting the public and urban public space value oriented in same direction on the basis of the “sense of place”, promoting the unity of subject object and object in the “image” and creating “trigger” to promote the ideological and political education “communicative practice”.
