Marxism is rich in universal value, which is the basis of breaking the illusion of the ideology of universal value. Universal value is different from the ideology of universal value. It is unwise of fighting against universal value, but it is a must to fight against the special ideology of universal value. Essentially, the ideology of universal value is a special western ideology, which is one kind of tools for cultural infiltration, economic aggression and hegemony by some capitalist countries. The ideology of universal value is manifested in many ways in contemporary China, such as misreading the development of China, charging the Four Fundamental Principles, amplifying contradictions and creating incidents. Permeating of western ideology is an important reason for the spreading of the ideology of universal value in China. However, the more fundamental reason lies in the domestic economic and social development, the open-door policy, the changes of economic base, the weakening of the ability of thought identification, the copying of foreign academic discourse and so on.
