The research into the discipline attributes of the present ideological and political education is carried out in two aspects: From the perspective of the first-grade discipline orientation of Marxism theory, ideological and political education discipline has the attributes of Marxism theory of discipline; From the perspective of the discipline origin of ideological and political education and its social functions, the discipline of ideological and political education has the characteristics of humanity, education, sociality and comprehensiveness. The existing ideological and political education focuses on the study of the discipline attributes effect brought by practical work, and pays little attention to the discipline normalization of modern social sciences. Therefore, the future development of the discipline attributes of ideological and political education should center on constructing research idea of more reasonable interaction between theory and practice, establishing research normalization of discipline attributes with the key elements of research objects and methods, placing emphasis on the essence study of discipline attribute research.
