In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Chinese excellent traditional culture, Marx culture and Western culture constitute the three basic dimensions for Chinese to discuss cultural self— confidence. In order to accurately clarify the relationship among the three kinds of culture, it is necessary to take appropriate attitude towards cultural confidence, which requires a deep historical angle and a broad vision of the world to seek a balance between traditional and modern culture, between local and foreign culture, and between perseverance and innovation. So, in what way can the balance be achieved? And what is the correct way of cultural confidence? First of all, in relation to China position, it is important to seek accurate positioning and“ do not forget the original task”; Secondly, it is significant to complete the transformation from “ outer acceptance” to“ endogenous reflection”in the germinal mechanism; Furthermore, it is compulsory to depend on Marxist doctrine and methodology for scientific and fundamental analysis to grasp the critical spirit and the spirit of practice; Finally, it is necessary to seek the path dependence and the trend of evidence to realize profound change from “ under the west” to “ over the west”. Then, it is possible to constitute sufficient conditions for the self—confidence of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
