Chinese environmental sociology has developed for more than 20 years since it was founded. It has made a great progress in the discipline construction, talent training, and scientific research and formed an [JP2]institutionalized communication platform. Based on the above achievements, the sixth Chinese Symposium on Environmental Sociology was held with the theme of “Beautiful China and Environmental Sociology”. Participants uses multiple research methods and different theoretical perspectives to discuss related topics such as the development of a green society,[JP] presentation mechanism of environmental issues, environmental justice, environmental governance and the construction of “beautiful China” at different levels and from different dimensions. They have fully exchanged their thoughts about these topics. Their research not only takes root in the local analysis, but also has global theoretical perspectives which reflect a crossdisciplinary integration and further highlight policy application of environmental sociology research. Their research provides the reference for the construction of ecological civilization and the harmonious symbiosis mechanism between human and nature in the future development of China.
