Oral history research is an important research method for knowledge production in the discipline of ideological and political education. From the logic of appearance,the historical premise of the research method of oral history of ideological and political education is the long-term accumulation of practical activities of ideological and political education,and the theoretical basis is to follow the research basis and interpretation principle of Marxist historical materialism. The application of research methods in the oral history of ideological and political education not only responds to the mission and expectation of modernizing the discipline of ideological and political education, but also serves as an important path to promote the construction of an independent knowledge system for ideological and political education. The application of oral history research method in ideological and political education has profound value implication. It is manifested in broadening the micro-narrative space of ideological and political education from the individual perspective of ideological and political education memory,enriching the curriculum resources of ideological and political education with oral history interview practice,enhancing the social identity of ideological and political education disciplines by tracing the history of ideological and political education and connecting collective memories in series, and collecting historical records of ideological and political education and inheriting ideological and political education culture and national memory.
